Laura + Michael

I just got back from shooting Laura & Michael's wedding at Oswego Lake Country Club. They make a cute couple, and I enjoyed the day so much! I had some energy left to quick edit some favorites.

Good Stuffs

This weekend I received Ashley and Perry's wedding album, and I love it! This is a high-quality printed and bound photo art-book, really good especially for my journalistic photographs. I'm really satisfied and confidence to offer this to my customers. I better order a bigger one with leather cover for sample.

Ingrid surprised me as well with her practice cake. I love her smooth fondant work and simple sweet color combination. Way to go, partner!

Swing and Slide

What a nice weather in PDX this weekend! My friends went out watching the Cirque du Soleil on Saturday, so I took their daughter, Emilie, to Rose Garden. Coming easy with a camera and my 50, I didn't see any rose blooming yet, but had Emilie playing swing and slide a bit. She's super adorable!

Piano Recital

In couple weeks my good friend, Agus Bun, will stage her Senior Piano Recital before going home to Indonesia. Since the theme is "Portraits," she asked me to design the poster and to hang some B/W portraits from my trip to Indonesia, back in summer 2005, during her show.
It will be on Tuesday the 29th at Portland Bible College chapel 7 pm. You should come, she's very good, she played at my wedding ceremony! Plus... Ingrid's desserts!!

Spring is Here!

The day after we came back from the Coast, we went to Wooden Shoe Tulip Farm. Got lucky a bit with the weather! I brought one camera, 60-macro and 16-fisheye. I submitted three of the pictures to ProPhoto "Catch the Colors" Tulip Photo Contest 2008. We have to wait for the result for another month though.

First Anniversary

Last week I went to Florence with my wife, Ingrid, celebrating early our first anniversary. I traveled light with just one camera, my 50 and 16-fisheye. There is nothing like Oregon Coast local sites!

WPJA

Early this year I got accepted into the Wedding Photojournalist Association, a prestigious association of world's most talented wedding photojournalists, where only less than 5% of photographers got admitted! It was my last year's resolution that came to pass. I was happy yet humbled. God is faithful.
That day was also the deadline for submitting photos to their quarterly contest. I managed to prepare and submit some pictures, and one of them won the 13th place on First Dance category. Not bad for a 1st-day rookie, it placed me to #3 in Oregon! Indeed... it was just the beginning.

JUDGES COMMENTS: I like the painterly quality of the framing and light on this couple. Simple and beautiful.
